The case was purchased from the Colonial & Indian Exhibition of 1886, held at South Kensington. The Exhibition demonstrated artistic, scientific and cultural products, with 'India' the largest section with a third of the overall space. It was a great public success, welcoming around 5.5 million visitors in less than six months. Report a Violation
